Thursday, September 17th, 2009

I made this beer on a whim, had the ingredients and a basic porter recipe.  I  monkeyed around with the ingredients list till I got what I think might be a good or at least interesting beer.pumpkinporter_spices

New Belgium Fat Tire Clone Brewing Session

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

I got my liter starter going around 8am or so, got 10.5 lbs of grain ground with the world’s worst and slowest grain crusher.  This thing is so bad if I go slow it makes powder it I go to fast it doesn’t crush, you have to find the optimum handle rotation to get the grain crushed right.  After what seemed like the longest 40 minutes of crushing grain, the brewing was going to have to wait, family day. Simply Beer IPA (all grain) Brewing Session

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

After brewing the Dogfish Head 60 Minute extract clone with a friend for him, selfishly, I really wanted my own batch.  So the other day I brewed what I hope to be a kind of hybrid English/American IPA.  I’m hoping for the spiced malty back bone with a very floral American IPA aroma.brewday_20090806_1

Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA Organic version (Extract)

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

In early June I was contacted by Mike Kivowitz, founder of Leafygreen.info wanting to partner up to brew an organic version of the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA.  If any of you have looked for a clone of the 60 Minute IPA, you know there are a bunch of them out there and they are all different.  Here is our take on the Dogfish head 60 Minute IPA.  IMG_8770

Brewing Session – Roggenbier – All Grain

Monday, July 20th, 2009

This Sunday was so beautiful, finally no rain in Jersey; I was able to brew out side and my best Friend from Virginia Beach was visiting and helped out.  This brewing Session was my first time brewing a Roggenbier, which is basically rye version of a dunkelweizen.  This should be a nice light summer beer.brewday-07192009-3
