Beer Brawl™ 30 – Session Beer Challenge

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Beer Brawl™ 30 was the brain child of Kevin Malavarca from the Liquor Outlet in Boonton NJ. Since we are right around the corner from the Super Bowl, what better way to prepare then to figure out what is the best session beer. The Session Beer Challenge, each of us brought our two favorite session beers to the table for a winner take all (bragging rights) challenge.beerbrawl30_1

Beer Brawl™ 28 – Belgian Style Quads

Monday, November 30th, 2009

After a month long hiatus with the Beer Brawl™ we are back in full swing.  This time ’round we are pulled out the Big Boys and sampled nine Belgian (style) Quadruples.  Of the Belgian Trappist beers, the Quads are biggest in terms of ABV and also some the more interesting flavor profiles.  As we found with the nine quads we tried, they varied quite a bit in flavors and we all over 9% abv.beerbrawl28_1

Beer Brawl™ 27 – Oktoberfest Part 2 – Blind Tasting

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Our first ever blind Beer Brawl.  We decided to test as many Oktoberfest beers as we could easily get our hands on without going over board.  We ended up with 12 that we wanted to try and decided it would be fun to see what Fest beer we truly liked the best without any influence from the brand name.  Since there were 12 beers we decide to split it up into two batches.  We knew what was in each 6 block trial, but we didn’t know the order they would be served and the results we quite stunning!beerbrawl_oktoberfest1_p2
