Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, round 2

This beer will be a first for me; the first time I’ve reviewed the same beer twice. My first Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast review was in April of 2009, almost a year later and I want to see if it is just as good, better, or worse as it was last year.  I love my coffee and I can very particular about it beer.  I don’t like the astringency I find in a lot of coffee beers, but a well done coffee stout can be heaven for me.mikkeller_beergeek2

Nøgne-Ø Mikkeller Tyttebaer

I don’t know Mikkeller does it, but every beer that I’ve had from this “nomadic” brewer has been world class.  When I saw this on the Shelf at the Liquor Outlet in Boonton NJ, I had to get it – it was a cranberry lambic and from Mikkeller.  I didn’t see how I could go wrong.Tyttebaer1

Simply Beer Club – Holiday Beer Tasting, Dec 2nd

Our first Simply Beer Club on November 7th was a huge success. We tasted through a half dozen+ stouts and had a blast discussing the beer in a fun and very educational forum.

Mikkeller Nugget Single Hop IPA

Beer Brawl 14 – Mikkeller

This week we switched things up a bit and focused on a Brewer rather then a particular style of beer.  For this Beer Brawl, we choose to focus on Mikkeller beers.  Mikkel Borg Bjergsø is a ‘gipsy-brewer’, who brews at different breweries in Denmark, Norway, Germany and the United States.  Each beer that is made is unique and may only be a one time limited release.
