Last year I was lucky enough to win the New Jersey State Fair Homebrewing Competition with my Sorachi Patersbier.  Part of the prize was to have my beer brewed by Krogh’s Brewpub, a local brewpub in Sparta NJ.  Last week I finally got my chance to brew it and what I appreciated, besides being there to begin with, Dave (the Brewmaster) kept true to my recipe with ingredients, no substitutions, no excuses!

The first day of the Beer Bloggers Conference was at the least, epic!  As most have come to realize, you make your own luck and that is what happened to me to start off the first day of the Beer Bloggers Conference.  After a pretty intense “day minus one“, I needed to start off this day with some thing equally as interesting.  Thankfully there is twitter.

Since today is the first day of the Beer Bloggers Conference, yesterday must have been day -1, right? Regardless of what it is or was, it was my first ever day in Denver.  And I got lucky!  No not that lucky, I had a great tour guide for the afternoon, my Beer Trading Guru, Scott gave me the whirlwind 6 hour tour of all things great in Denver.

It’s official folks, NJ Beer Company is having its launch party at the Coppermine Pub in North Arlington NJ on Sat May 15th.  I have been following Matt Steinberg’s journey to get to the wondrous spot for several months.  Back in Nov of ‘09, I first met Matt at his deserted brewery, there was no equipment, electricity, or gas.  Since that day he has overcome production delays, shipping delays, and customs delays with his brewing equipment, not to mention mistakes by local utility companies.  But, aside from all of these start-up set backs, his dream of opening a Brewery in North Jersey is finally a reality!
