3 Months 10 Beers – Patersbier – If He Had the PERFECT Beer Why Didn’t He Share???

Friday, November 19th, 2010

My wife and I are on a quest to find her 10 beers over the next 3 months that she can enjoy! But we are now down to about 10 days left in this journey.  We have found very few beers that she has enjoyed. I’m still striking out. Had a couple that were almost there, but didn’t quite cut it. But why do I need to limit this to commercial beers, I think my homebrew is as good as many commercial beer.  So, when Dani stole (yes, literally ran away with my glass) my paterbier, I knew we had found beer #8! Stupid is as Stupid does…. again

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Here I go again!  This time I left the blowoff tube in the jug of sanitizer when I turned down the temperature in my fermentation fridge.  I wouldn’t have really expected what happened to have happened, but it did and I now I feel like a moron.  Some how with the change in temperature, the carboy actually siphoned all the starsan back into the carboy.

Beer Blogger Brewoff, the Results are in!

Friday, February 26th, 2010

After 2 months, we finally had our Beer Blogger Brewoff tasting.  It was amazing the quality and variety of beer made from such a simple 5.5% abv stout.  I applaud Aaron, Derek, Erik, Joseph and Nate for coming through with some very creative and tasty beers. With all our beers brewed, mailed, and ready to be consumed; six of us got together on a Skype conference and had a virtual tasting.  It was extremely cool to share these beers while we were spread all over the country, although it felt like we were all in the same room.

Homebrew Recipe: Belgian Honey Wit (Extract)

Friday, June 19th, 2009

The Wit or Witbier is a classic summer time ale, great session beer with hints of coriander and orange.  I wanted to take that a step further and I added japanese bamboo honey to the recipe.
